2025 Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, MI

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is now one of our favorite national parks.  The views are amazing - I recommend adding Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore to your bucket list. But, you can only see them if you (1) kayak along the somewhat challenging Lake Superior shoreline or (2) sign up for the official boat tour.  We are definitely not experienced kayakers, so official boat tour it was! We did end up hiking along a couple parts of the shoreline the next day to see some of the sights from the other side.  Those photos at the end of the gallery.

Quick note on the location - nearby Munising was our favorite place to visit in the UP - we made it into an overnight trip since it was 2 1/2 hours from our airbnb and we wanted to be sure to properly enjoy the area.  In addition to enjoying the Lakeshore, we managed to have a lot of great food there, which surprised us since it’s such a small town.  Tracey’s at Roam Inn had great dinner options with a variety of tastes, gluten free options and vegan/vegetarian options.  We had breakfast at a great diner (neuske’s bacon - IYKYK) and good panini’s for lunch.
