I’d been looking forward to both of these movies - we didn’t end up seeing them in the theater, they were definitely worth seeing streamed at home.

A Working Man (2025):

On the one hand, satisfying in the way Statham movies usually are. The bad guys are really bad and get their just desserts. On the other hand, not as good as some - I think because too many of the fights were gun fights instead of hand to hand, at which Statham shines. Craig thought it’s because the bad guys weren’t written/acted well enough. Either way - worth watching but keep expectations low.

Love Hurts (2025):

Loved seeing Ke Huy Quan in this (while he was good in Everthing, Everywhere All At Once, I didn’t feel like that performance gave me joy). The movie is cute quirky funny and kung fu-y. The stylized fight choreography was great. Another movie where you need to keep expectations low - just fun, not cinema. The “good score” in the Dina Meter is simply for the fun juxtaposition between the Valentine’s Day music and the fight scenes, which is a Dina favorite device.
